Media Center

Tiger on BooksMedia Center Introduction

This school maintains an excellent Media Center. The Media staff will provide instruction and assist all students in using its facilities. The center is open from at least 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM. Extended hours will be offered two days a week during the 2021-2022 school year.

The goals of the Media Center are to provide a balanced collection of print and nonprint materials and equipment to support the curriculum and programs of the school, for both faculty and students; to aid faculty in teaching students proper research procedures and skills needed for on-going self-education; to centralize nonprint materials and instructional equipment for staff and student use; to encourage leisure reading and pursuits.

The Media Center is a quiet area designed for research, study, and reading. It is not a study hall. Students will be admitted during their unscheduled time with a pass from a subject teacher, staff member or member of the Media staff. Those students who do not respect the rights of others or who are disruptive by their behavior may have their Media privileges curtailed.

In addition to our print collection, the Media Center subscribes to approximately numerous periodicals . There is also a nonprint collection consisting of DVDs, CDs, videos, play always, audiobooks, computer software, slides, kits and other media.  An interlibrary loan system connected to the state library and other area libraries is available. The Media Center houses the audio visual equipment which includes numerous types of projectors, LCD systems, CD players, DVD players, portable screens, digital cameras, digital camcorders, and document cameras.
